P Form Trip to The Victorian Schoolroom

P Form headed off to 'The Victorian Schoolroom' today to discover what school life was like in a Victorian classroom.
The visit was an opportunity for us to experience the education practices of over one hundred years ago, complete with regimented rows of wooden desks, the blackboard, abacus, slate pencils and split nib pens.

The classroom is a time-warp, stocked with genuine school items that have served generations of children and our lesson was taught by two very strict, stern-faced, role-play teachers.
We were able to handle some everyday items as well and the experience certainly opened our eyes to the school life of children in Victorian times.
