Arran House Countryside Walk

Arran House Countryside Walk

On Sunday, the boys of Arran House enjoyed a refreshing walk along the Fife Costal Path from Crail to Anstruther finishing at the award winning Anstruther Fish Bar for tea. On route, we learned a little about the Salt Pans once found on this coastline and the importance of salt for preserving food in the past.

We also visited the Caiplie Caves and learned that they had been in use as a place of worship form as early as 800AD and had been home to at least one Hermit. We encountered a variety of Flora and Fauna on route including getting close to a seal pup sunning itself above the high water mark. It was a great walk along a beautiful section of coastline just a minibus ride away from Fettes.
