Rock for Fet-Lor!
Rock for Fet-Lor was a fantastic event and a huge success. Rock for Fet-Lor is a charity gig held to raise funds for the Fet-Lor youth centre in north Edinburgh. It happens in a secret venue and is attended by an audience of around 300 all aged 13-18.
The performances from the opening Fettesian acts were astounding and especially when the school timetable did not allow for everyone to enjoy long periods of rehearsal before taking to the stage in front of a hungry audience. Each act was perfect from the beautifully sung Lady Gaga and Coldplay songs right through to the classic rock tracks from MIMC and Climax.
Our outside bands did not disappoint either. The Amorettes are getting quite big on the punk scene and for us to be able get them back after two years ago was very fortunate and this was down to the fact they consider the previous gig as one of their best ever. All the outside bands were blown away by the energy it was a brilliant way of paying them back for coming in and performing for free.
David B and Al G were the cinematographers for the night and captured all the wonderful performances. We also had a crack team of Techs: Elliot G, Chris I, Megan C, Ian B, Vasily S and Harry O. Elliot and Chris worked especially hard and the amazing lighting on the night was all down to them. We also owe a huge amount to our sound engineer, Pete Gausinet, who was behind the beautiful levelling of the sound.
Massive thanks also go to Mr Smith and KI House as the boys worked hard preparing the venue, moving kit around for us and helping with all various duties on the evening.
This whole event was sponsored by Black Light Ltd who supply us with most of our theatre and events kit.
