Nicola Pickavance

Director of Development

I joined Fettes in August 2015 following almost a decade at National Museums Scotland, ultimately leading the Development team there to secure significant capital and revenue income from private sources. Having studied Law at the University of Aberdeen and practised as a solicitor in Edinburgh, I moved into fundraising for the arts first at the Edinburgh International Festival. As well as the arts and heritage sectors, I have experience of fundraising for universities such as Edinburgh Napier and the University of Edinburgh and I am now very much enjoying working for the first time in the independent schools sector.

At Fettes I oversee all the activities of the Development team including Major Gifts, Legacy, Annual Fund and Career Partnership programmes. I also work with colleagues to build effective relationships between the College and the wider Fettes Community of Old Fettesians, past and current parents, staff and friends of Fettes College to help ensure that we provide our students with a strong foundation for the future and a family for life.

Fettes is exceedingly fortunate to benefit from a warm, generous and passionate community of supporters and I am deeply grateful to all those who help us either by supporting us financially or by giving up their time to enable us to deliver our programmes.
