Richard Mill

Head of Boys' Games & 2nd Form Tutor

I joined Fettes Prep as Head of Boys’ Games in January 2017 and began my Physical Education teaching career at St. Mary’s School in Melrose in 2013. I became Housemaster there in 2014 whilst completing my PGCE through the University of Buckingham. I also coach the Dandylions and the Scottish Prep School rugby squads during the Autumn Term.

I was educated at Lathallan Prep School before moving to Glenalmond College and read Sport Sociology at The University of Stirling while playing rugby in the Scottish Premiership for Heriots. During this time, I played for all the Scotland age group sides and since then I've played professional and semi-professional rugby in Sydney in Australia, London and Melrose. I have competed for the Scotland 7s team and for the Scotland club international side.

During my spare time, I skipper yachts on the west coast of Scotland alongside other watersports and enjoy playing the guitar, piano and bagpipes.

I am passionate about playing and coaching many different sports/activities and helping people achieve their potential in any field.
I'm looking forward to working with all the pupils in the Prep School and to help them improve their skills within a sporting environment whilst, most importantly, having fun and loving life!
