What is your most cherished memory from your time at Fettes?
Probably getting 100% pass in my "O" levels.

And your least?
Losing a boxing final that I should have won easily.

What event or personality left a lasting impression on you?
I was very impressed by our biology teacher, Chick Beesley, who was one
of the best inspirational teachers I have known.

Outside the classroom, how did you spend your free time at Fettes?
In my final year I was allowed to go fishing on Haddington reservoir. Before that numerous "Illegal" activities such as catching pigeons in the roof space and cooking them and rigging up an alarm system to warn us if anyone was approaching the study. I trust the present inhabitants of College West are more decorous in their behaviour but still have fun beating the system.
