Qualifications and career:
AKC BD MTh Farmington Fellow Trinity Hall Cambridge 10 yrs Infantry Officer The Black Watch then School Chaplain at Loretto, The Perse and Gordonstoun before becoming Headmaster of Ardvreck for 3 years and then returning to Loretto as Chaplain.

What is your most cherished memory from your time at Fettes?
So many but I really enjoyed playing Big Julie in John Arkells production of Guys and Dolls.

And your least?
Queuing to get into the Dining Hall.

Were you awarded a scholarship at Fettes and, if so, what did it mean to you?
An Army Scholarship meant a lot especially as it helped my parents with the fees in my last 2 yrs and they made so many sacrifices to put four sons through the school.

What event or personality left a lasting impression on you?
Neville Clark and his great leadership throughout the school.

Were you a conscientious student?
Tried to be, could have done better.

Outside the classroom, how did you spend your free time at Fettes?
I loved all the sport, CCF and the choir and just being in Edinburgh.
