What is your most cherished memory from your time at Fettes?
There are too many to mention! Playing on the starting line up for every match for the First XV Rugby Team in U6th Form and completing the half marathon were definite highlights.
And your least?
Getting in trouble for being naughty a little too much!
What event or personality left a lasting impression on you?
The Welsh family dragging me through my A-levels. They taught me for 2 of my 3 A level subjects; never giving up and always offering endless excellent support and advice or chasing me when I was occasionally lazy. The attitude, kindness and persistency they demonstrated with me has certainly shown me what I am capable of when I set my mind to something which has stood me in good stead many years on.
Were you a conscientious student?
I would like to say yes, however in sixth form I often lost focus much to the despair of many of my teachers!
Outside the classroom, how did you spend your free time at Fettes?
I played Rugby for the 1XV, participated in Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, Silver and Gold. I was a member of the running club, political society, historical society, aviation society, dining hall committee, shooting club as well as being an NCO in the RAF CCF section and running a Young Enterprise Company. I also organized the inter house art competition for my house, as well as participating in the tug of war team, and hitting the gym when I had any energy left. Basically anything I could do I signed up for!
