Education: St. Paul's Girls' School, London and St. John's College, Cambridge

Career: Tanya has over 30 years' experience in banking, during which time she developed extensive risk, change and corporate governance expertise.

She has held senior executive positions in the past across different areas of the risk spectrum within both commercial and investment banks (JP Morgan, UBS Investment and latterly, having decided to move to Scotland, HBOS/Lloyds Banking Group). She is currently a non-executive director of Faster Payments UK (the near real time UK payments system for personal and business customers), Societe Generale international Limited (a major global derivatives brokerage firm), and Vice Chair of Scottish Canals (which is conserving and transforming Scottish canals). She is also the Lay Chair of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries Quality Assurance Scheme and the founder of the charity Changing the Chemistry (a Scottish based organisation seeking to improve board effectiveness through greater diversity of thought). Tanya has twice been a pension trustee, is a former director of the City Women's Club board and used to be a school governor for a primary school in Hackney, East London.
