Governor

Alan McLean was educated at Harrow School, Middlesex, Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge (where he read History) and Edinburgh University (Law). He qualified as a solicitor in 1990 and was called to the Scottish Bar in 1993. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2008.

He has been a Governor since March 2015, as the appointee of the Faculty of Advocates under the school’s Constitution.

His two children have both attended Fettes.
