The Library at Fettes is designed to be a welcoming place where students can come to do research, use the computers or simply sit and read the newspapers.

Hot chocolate at breaktime

Our librarian, Ms Lyon, provides hot chocolate to all those who come to the Library during break. The Library houses around 14,000 books ranging from those written in the 19th Century to Man Booker winners covering every subject imaginable.

Competitions and Author Visits

In order to further enthuse our students about reading and indeed creative writing, we invite a variety of working authors to discuss their work with us and share their hints and tips about writing.

In the Library there is a selection of newspapers, magazines, DVDs, on-line subscriptions, photocopiers, scanner, black & white and colour printer, wireless connection, 10 computers and a further 14 computers in the adjacent Study Centre. The Library is open Monday to Saturday throughout the day and some evenings as is manned by 3 qualified librarians.
